Jaanu's Today!
Its been a while that I have written about my tiny princess. She's been often down with cold these days. Reason :She tries all kinds of food from mud ,wool,paper and sometimes some eatables too..
The most fun thing she has started is Reacting and responding to our conversation. She will nod up and down If we ask 'Right?'
She will raise her hand above her head and point out to something like 'its there.'
If we are mad at her she will blabber the same way as we talk to her and throws a killing smile at us.
My weirdo girl has ability to talk anything with anyone. She can talk to even animals. When she met a neighbour's dog,they conversed like they know each other for long.I was indeed dumbfounded by her ability and all we can understand from their conversation was that they were quiet mad at each other. On witnessing this my husband says "Let's get a Dog". I was like "We are so not made for each other :(

We have a dais like thing in our apartment's amphi theatre.One can find lots of people there in evening.One fine day we took Jaans to the dais and let her crawl. When ever my smarty pants reached the end of dais,She will verify by touching the rim of the dais and go back so that she will not fall.It cracks us every time we think about that. She can point at Apple in the book If we say "Apple" and also Banana
Her hands and legs are getting stronger. She can pull herself up and down the couch with utter ease.Now it has become even harder for us to prevent her attacks when we are eating.She can even get down from our bed and she can push the coffee table.
She knows the difference between remote and cell phone. If we dont give her the remote She even knows how to change the channels with set-of-box .
She has these fits of tantrums with no reason to it. She understands that we are saying "No" after that all she can think of is "Screaming".
She stands behind me ,holding onto my shoulder and bend over to play peek-a-boo.If I am watching TV for little long time She brings her face right in front of me and start blabbering . I feel she is complaining that "You've been watching TV for a long time" It melts my heart when ever she does these cute stuffs
I love all these little things she can do and waiting for more . We are so awestruck by her improvement and involvement as a little princess in our little family.I wish and pray she is always happy like this and throw challenges at us on raising her right.

My princess is officially a Toddler!
I am finally back after a long awaited 1st birthday function of my daughter. Basically "Aandu niraivu" or "Ayush homam" is done in the month and nakshatra the baby was born.Every year the date of birth differs according to positions of the stars in particular year.
This time my daughter's star was on Aug 9th . Below picture Jaanu is having a spoon as her pacifier.

happy that everyone blessed my daughter and showered her with lots of love and of course gifts.
It was thoughtful of Jaanu's Grand mother (My mom's elder sister) to give a new suitcase as a gift. It really helped us carry all her gifts.
The sad part for me was piercing her ears. My sister always used to make fun of me in this part. When ever Jaanu's been pricked with needles Akka(myself) cries. Call me a drama queen.. But I just cant bear to see my daughter in pain.
She pierced her ears sitting on my father's lap. My father was scared that Jaanu might not come to him If she sees him holding her while piercing. That made me laugh a little. On looking at this picture it makes me laugh .My Dad is so much in discomfort to see his grand daughter cry .After the piercing was done. I was so relieved. My kiddo as I always say is a fighter. She was back to form in less than an hour.
After the grand function the next action item in our list was giving her first hair to lord "Uppliappan" who is our main diety.
Poor Daddy(Vasanth) had to hold the princess.The person shaving Jaanu's head was repeatedly asking Vasanth to hold her tighter, as He was scared to hold her tight thinking that might hurt Jaanu. How sweeet Isn't it?? He did a extremely good job. I was waiting outside the hall to see my mottai(Bald) Jaanu.He also made the same comment that "What will I do if Jaanu refuses to come to me??? " ROFL...
Jaanu brought a bunch of hair to temple to give all by herself to our lord. We all were making fun of that.I dressed her in her new silk dress(Pavadai sattai)after her bath in holy water. She enjoyed the bath. The fun part was we all were so engrossed to watch her enjoying her bath that none of us remembered to take a picture of that.
I couldn't imagine the bald Jaanu though. If I close my eyes and think about her all I can see is Jaanu with lots of cute hair on her head :( . I love her anyways.
After praying god we went to pray our acharyan (Guru). I was happy that we got his blessings. It was so generous of him that he didn't allow me to keep jannu on the floor. He said "Azha vida vendam" ( Dont make her cry by keeping her down).
We came home and were asking Jaanu where is her hair. She kept patting on her bald head :) It was so hilareous to watch that.Next we went to Trivandrum to Sister-in-law's place to celelberate "Thalai Avani avattam" of Shyam(Vasanth's Nephew). We had a nice time there. I cooked for the family. My daughter and husband had the best time ever. Vasanth played Wii whole day and Jaanu screamed like crazy with her cousin sister Varshini.I told myself I ain't going to buy that Wii..
We came back to bangalore in fight. I was so panicked to take my princess in plane as It was her first flight. But there she again proved me wrong by enjoying the whole journey with lots of screaming and playing with the kids sitting just behind us.She got lots of attention from air hostesses,kids,elders,aunties and uncles.
We landed safe and with a screaming out of joy Jaanu.
On the whole ,the trip despite being hectic was very refreshing.
Note:This is just a mini diary for you Jaanu. You may not remember what happened on your birthday but I wanted you to read this . I have tried my best to put every special moments together.

Birthday Bash!
Day 7 : (Day before Jaanu's Birthday)
Our baby was awake till 11:30 and she started dozing. Just after 12 a.m I wished her first when she was awake and as soon as the clock struck 12.05 She was gone to her dreamland.
Conversation b/w me n Vasanth :
Myself:I wished her .
Vasanth: Even I wished her in her ears because she was asleep
Myself: she was awake when I wished her. So I wished her first :)
Vasanth: Imagine a "no comments!!!!! " face.
I know so bad of me to do that. But I feel I can defintely take advantage of situations like this. I didn't do anything wrong . I just wished my daughter first on her birthday.
Vasanth had his own plan. He surprised me with a 'time machine' gift. He made it and I just helped him in my beautiful writing skill .I asked him why you didn't even tell me about this? He told "Jaanu is too young to understand surprises but I wanted to surprise some one. So I surprised you.." To say the fact I was dumbstruck on seeing the effort he has taken.
Myself and Vasanth decorated the house with lots of color papers and her name"JanuManu" on the wall. We waited for our in-laws so that they can take part in decorating the place for her.
Morning:
Appa(Vasanth) picked up Granma and both granpa's from the railway station . My princess welcomed them with a 'snorrrrr..' Yes she was sleeping(We are not morning person ,people!!) As soon as She woke up everyone greeted her "Happy Birthday!" She was obviously in a shock to see them but to our surprise she greeted them back with a big(happy to see you guys)smile. I was able to see the other side of Jaanu.
Our plan was to cut 2 cakes one for family and other for family and friends.
Jaanu had her bath and was praying for the good day and we heard a door bell. We were surprised to see her Aunt (Deepa) at the door. I asked Why me?? Everyone chosing me for the surprise.
Jaanu wore oneof her new dress and I made her stand in front of the cake which I baked exclusively for her.She stood there wondering what to do. i made her touch the cake and directed her little fingers in her mouth. She started licking her fingers. I was so happy to see this. I was waiting for this moment for a long time.
Afternoon:
A small chatting and gossiping in the family and Grand fathers and aunt helped us decorating the entire house with baloons.
Evening :
I invited two of my neighbour friends and had a small official birthday party. Neighbour Kids "Diya,Pooja and Ajay" loved to play around the house. It was a nice to see so many people in my house.
Vasanth's aunt and her son were able to grace the occasion.
Night:
we went out for a dinner with family and had a royal feast.
It was indeed a beautiful and eventful first birthday of my little angel.
I thank God for blessing us and Jaanu with loving persons.

Eve of Jaanu's Birthday!!
I am just waiting for the d-day which is just a week away . Yes! Its my lovie's (my daughter's) 1st birthday.My wish is to keep it simple with my lilly.I hope I will be able to spend most of the time with her on her day. I am so elated like a small kid..Whoever reads this post is going to wonder whether its Jaanu's or my birthday.Lol;)..

She is capable of doing:
The wonderful thing she does now a days is just put everything in her mouth. She has tasted raw curry leaf,chilly seeds,cream and talc so far...

Crawl for a while and look back at me with a " Catch me if you can ?" look. If I run behind her ,She crawls extremely fast with a hysterical laugh.

Jaanu's Today!
Its not easy to run around the 11 months old kiddo! Yes , My girl is 11 months old now. I was just thinking about the good time we had with our grandma last month and now she is 11 months old. Exactly 1 month later my munchkin is gonna be an year old. I wondered what's the big deal about getting 1 year old, probably this 1 year a child's growth is much faster than the rest . I reminisce my girl trying so hard to roll over and now she can stand and walk holding on to something . Time flies and kids do grow fast ! I wish I can have some super power to keep going back to this phase of my life so that I can keep cuddling my girl as much as I want for every wonderful things she does ,She has taught me lots of things. How to be patient,Perseverance,How to smile when you are low ,How to love more , How to be a better mother every time.
Amazing things she can do now.
She can stand and walk holding onto something. Falling down is in her agenda too.
She can cry in two ways : one for real and other by faking it.
If she fell down when we are around she starts crying only if we saw that happening( Drama queen)
I can definitely say she is talking something,I am not supposed to look at anything or anyone If she wants me or her father to look at her. She hits us real hard and calls us "Dha Dha.."
She can identify the door bell.
She will be the happiest person when she meets her father.There are times when She refuses to come to me from her Dad.
She smiles a little at strangers now.
She orders everyone at home by saying "Eyiiiiiiiiii" We happened to notice this when she was calling "eyiiii" to everyone in the restaurant with a spoon in her hand.
She can pats her belly when some one asks " who is Jaanu?" but she does the same if she is asked "Where is amma?" or "Where is appa?" etc.,
She has started behaving very nice when she is surrounded by little groups of people.
Recently she has started feeling the beats of any song. She does a cute shimmy dance for any fast pace song. It has cracked us like hell.
She is still a picky eater though. But loves to have bites from our plate :)

Granma Time!!
Last week was awesome! As per plan we started with a road trip to Erode(my home town). It was a beautiful day.I packed food for us and had it right near the scenic highway. 
My girl was extremely cooperative . We stopped our car near the highway for food . While I was standing by the road Jaanu was baffled by the fast moving cars,trucks in the highway! It was nice to see my daughter noticing and able to differentiate the change. I enjoyed every bit of my last week. A week of opulence luxury.
'No Cooking yet eating all my favourite food ' Where can I have this luxury??? Of course at my Mom's place. Jaanu had a nice week there as well.. Though it started with a runny nose and lots of crankiness ('coz of extreme heat,power cuts and sweating) she compensated all of it by playing and giggling with her little aunt ,Granma and Great Granma !
Basically,I enjoy cooking but still the feeling of not going inside the kitchen for a week gave me a guilt free happiness,ate lots of Mangoes,did shopping,enjoyed watching my sister cuddling my daughter.I was reminiscing ,how I used to cuddle my sister when she was born. I will be dying to see her as soon as I come back from school.
We all went for shopping for my cutie on Monday. I got two pairs of cute shoes,lots of outfits for her. Coming back home was a roller coaster ride for me. My Sugar was crying in a total frantic and an inconsolable level. Its such a traumatising moment to see your child cry without knowing why. We were checking whether she had any insect bite,gave her toys,showed her lights and nothing keeps this girl quiet.As soon as I reach home and get out of the rickshaw ,she stops her tantrum cry. I have to blame Vasanth for this , If we(myself and Jaanu) were used to travel by rickshaw instead of car, I would have never faced this situation. I am extremely grateful to enjoy this luxury but hearing her cry like that was not a good scene.
My mom loves gardening and has lots of plants at home so I let Jaanu touch and feel all the plants as she cannot do it here in our apartment and more over I dont have any plants here at my bangalore home. I am seriously thinking to get one for her.
Mom took care of Jaanu while I was out and the moment I come home Jaanu is the happiest person. She will be sticking to me for atleast half an hour . One of the improvement in her was to say "Dha dha" .If I say "Clap" She immediately claps. If i say "Dhay Dhay" She says the same. She is very good at observing us. I really have to be very careful now as she is officially mimicking us. . My mom and granma loved the way she laughed,cried ,smiled,winked,play,blabber etc .I can ramble as long as I want but my vacation was over in a jiffy. Well coming back to Bangalore was again a sweet road trip.On the whole our vacation to Granma's home rocked !!!!

Jaanu's Today!
Its an amazing feeling to see someone grow and when its your own child ,the joy and happiness doubles! All toddlers are autodidacts by nature. It amuses me every time my daughter does something new all by herself.The unconditional love they show by just hugging us or by just resting their tiny head in mom's lap. They truly understand the love and make sure that they give back the love in their own way.
Things she can do now :
Snatch the keyboard from the desk while I am typing or browsing over the Internet.
She can hold on to something and stand for a while. She stands with the help of TV stand and tries to catch the subtitles.She throws stuffs at TV,those include,plastic spoons,toys,plush etc.
I play rhymes for her from a CD and when ever I play it she is looking all around the house in search of lady who sings the rhymes in TV. Its very funny.
She is like wildfire in her walker. She claps,runs and jumps (sometime all together) accompanied by a loud scream when she sees our maid.
Tries to hold the broom when our maid is sweeping
She talks(Blabbers - something like "voooozo") when ever I am over the phone.
Sometimes she bites me with her tiny teeth on my cheeks ,I take that as a kiss or love from her.
She can open the drawers and take out the things thus making a mess .
She can reach the tip of the counter top ,she is on her toes when she does this. I was really horrified to see this.. What am I gonna do if she grows even an inch taller Lol :)????
She loves to explore refrigerator. She stands right in front of the door without letting me to close it.She takes out all the items and drops them on floor. Thank God! she cannot carry the juice cartons yet.
She makes me happy everyday!

Mother's Day???
No one celebrates Mother's day ,Father's day or Daughter's day in India as many people believe that these are celebrated only in western countries as people don't live there as a family.
In spite of being an Indian I have different opinion about this ,I thought that these days are to just make them feel extra special, a kind of an allowance . It is definitely obvious that you are loved as always.Some times we forget that we are living together and never enjoy the togetherness,probably because of our desperately busy life. The life which becomes so mechanical that we keep assuming that there is love somewhere and never bother to show that.
There are people who might say love need not be expressed .If love is showered, Is it gonna harm any one? Is any one gonna get hurt by that ? "NO" Then Why we have to assume that its there when these are few emotions when shared gives happiness to both the giver and receiver ?
I totally believe that there should be a day(A Special day) for every relationship human beings share. Call it westernization or what ever ! I don't care.
I am a proud mom and I totally deserve the extra "LOVE".
Waking up with my daughter trying to bite my cheeks with her two tiny teeth was the best "Mother's Day" gift ever. " Happy Mother's day to me" and All the Mom's

Jaanu's Today!
My girl is keeping me really busy. I feel I am raising a toddler already though there are 3 more months for that to become official. I dont know what's left in store for me ,but definetly its pushing my limits..
Things she can do:
I was teaching my princess to clap her hands for quiet a long time.. Every time I clap my hands ,She will pat the floor.
She was watching her favourite commercial and at the end all she did was clap her hands.
I was thinking I should have tried teaching her this by keep playing the commercial for her ,once she realized she was clapping ,she did that again and again .
I was so happy. I was able to see the happiness in her eyes. The happiness of something she was trying to learn for long time. My daughter is learning things. That's amazing and wonderful.
She talks to me "Voooooooo" (put a surprised emotion on her face)
She is atrracted to metals n steels now. She loves snatching our plates.
She is amused by shadows and sun light. She plays with both :)
I am happy about the thing that now we can start introducing her with some of our food as she can deviate a little from the strict baby food routine. She started asking for buiscuits,juices,chocolates and everything we eat ,If we dont give her she imitates like eating. That's so cute that noone can resist the feeling of giving her atleast one bite.
She spits the food when ever I feed her. The fountain of cereal falling on her face makes her giggly. She spits the food and giggles. This is her routine!
One thing I learnt from parenting so far is "Patience" . Each day my threshold raises yet I am enjoying every bit of this. Love you Jaanu!

Jaanu's Today!
Today my baby is 9 months old. Phew!!!
I often ask this myself every month,How did that happen??
Ohh!! My baby girl is growing fast.. .
Things she can do:
Vasanth has a routine of kissing our munchkin (regardless of what she is doing) before going to office. We(both Jaanu n myself) stand by our front door to wave him "ta ta"
Today Jaanu was probably tired because of yesterday night's repeated jumping sessions . She was just awake and Vasanth waved "Ta ta" to her ,half asleep she opened her tiny eyes and winked at him then came a angelic smile and waved her hands.We both were flabbergasted. I was like when did she ever learn that?
This was probably the first thing she learnt from us. Waving "Bye-bye".
She can roam around the whole house in her walker and do all naughty and dangerous things.
She jumps in walker when she is happy.
She goes near the coffee table and bangs any solid thing on it.The louder the noise ,the harder the hit becomes accompanied by a squeaky laugh.

CWS-CORIANDER SEED Event
I came to know about this event through Priya guest hosted by Aruna Manikandan of Veggie Paradise . We all cook with corriander seeds and here's my contribution to the event.
Snake gourd Rings
My husband dislikes almost all the greens. As I am incharge of the kitchen I never cook anything without atleast one green dish. So this is the only way Vasanth can accept Snake gourd in this house.
Ingredients:
1 medium snake gourd
1 tsp corriander seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
1/2 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
1 tbs oil
Powder:
Grind corriander seeds,cumin seeds,fenugreek seeds after dry roasting.
How I made it:
Cut the snake gourd into rings by taking out the core individually.
Heat oil in nonstick pan and fry the rings
Add grinded powder and chilli powder,salt.
Potato Baby corn fry
Ingredients
2 medium sized potatoes
5 to 6 sweet baby corns
1 tbs Corriander powder
1 tsp Fennel seeds
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tbs Olive oil
Salt to taste
How I made it :
Cut the potatoes and baby corn in wedges
In a non-stick pan add oil and Fry the vegies
Add fennel seeds,spices and salt to taste
Banana stem curry
Ingredients
1 medium sized banana stem(half a feet)
1/4 cup buter milk
1/2 cup grated coconut
3 green chillies
1 tsp corriander seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 strand of curry leaves
1/2 tsp coconut or vegetable oil
Grind to paste
Grind coconut,green chillies,cumin and corriander seeds together
How to cut banana stem
Keep the banana stem horizontal and cut them in small circles( each 2 to 3 millimeter in width)
Add to buttermilk so that they stay white in color
Take 4 circles at a time and cut them in small cubes
Add the same to buttermilk
How I made it:
Boil the banana stem buttermilk mixture with little bit of salt
Add the paste
Temper with mustard and curry leaves (Using Coconut oil gives a nice aroma)

Jaanu's Today!!
She is 8 and half months already. Having my cutie in my lap and watching her doze was a beautiful and a mesmerizing feeling. I carefully laid her on the bed and lied down near her watching her sleep . As soon as I lied down she turned towards me and put her soft cushy,mushy hands over my neck. Its amazing that this lady knows I may slip away from her. But with these tiny and adorable hand over you ,Never!I have never felt so cozy and calm. I wondered whether we have changed roles,We will be sharing same love eitherways
Her Do's and like's:
My bubbly baby can hold on to anything and stand for a while. The fun part is she stands on her toe like a ballerina ! She loves the "Vodafone -Zuzu" commercial on TV. She can distinguish between the commercial and others.She can clap now . She loves to be cuddled by me before bedtime.She is most energetic and all hyper person after midnight. I love what her outfit says in this picture!
"Im pretty,Mummy is prettier,Papa is luckiest! " If its not clear from the picture. How true Isn't it??? I so wanna hear this again and again.

Jaanu's Today!
There are some moments which are beautiful and cherishing when there is 'silence' &'peace' in it.Sometimes If I am not able to go for a walk, I spend some time with my angel either on the couch cuddling or in our balcony . Today I was in the balcony with Jaanu in my arms and gazing over the three teenagers giggling,Children playing at the park,Old people chattering on the sidewalk and smell of some food made by our neighbour.I looked at my angel ,When ever the wind blowed ,her soft hair will fly,She will gasp for a breath and give me a killing smile folled by a ticklish laugh. I wonderd what she might feel about the cool breeze? But I am quiet sure that She was enjoying it. I love this sweet nothings with her. Love you baby.

Jaanu's Today!!!
When ever I write something under this subject ,It gives me a feeling that I am a columinst of a Newspaper "Jaanu's Today" . Lol ;D
Things she can do :
1. Can crawl utterly fast on her knees. If she is locates her favourite things the speed increases proportionally!
2 .She can say "Ba ba ba ba" when I say "Ba ba ba ba" and "mamama" when I say the same. Still depends on her mood
3. She raises her voice if we raise our voice.
4. She can point her index finger like she is warning us,It looks so hilarious!
5. When I play peek-a-boo ,She comes near me and takes my hand from my face and feel happy that she saw her mommy. My heart melts even thinking about it.
6. As she got her first teeth (25/03/11) and she prefers munching our fingers. I love it though.
7. She can nod "no,no,no" when we do and shakes her body up n down for saying "Yes ,yes,yes" . It amuses me how the kids learn to do the things which are not required at all.
8. She loves to play with both of us at 3:00 am. She just keeps looking at us, If we open our eyes she gives that deadly smile with wink.Irresistible !
9.She tries to clap her hands by tapping the floor. She is yet to learn the realy clapping.
Observation
We got her toy which has different actions in them like push,pull,slide and turn buttons ,While doing each action right the box pops open.
Thinking that it will be helpful for logical reasoning we showed her the toy. The first thing she was attracted to was the box popping out.
But the funnier part was ,She concentrated more on closing the box rather than doing the required action. Probably she was thinking why we are there for?
Kids learn at their pace. That's what I told myself.

CWF-WF/WV-TOMATO - Tomato Granita
I am a Tomato Lover. I use them in as many dishes as I can. I use them in gravies,pickles,juice and salads and what not?
As I was already breaking my head on how to prepare a new dish for the event ,It occurred to me that if i can drink Tomato juice then why not try a granita with it? As summer is approaching It would really make a good refreshing dessert. I was quiet skeptical yet I grabbed those ripe tomatoes out of the fridge and in matter of minutes.. Walla!! my granita was ready .
Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup Sugar
2 small bright red tomatoes (Diced)
1 tsp Lemon Juice
1 pea size ginger
Mint Leaves 2 to 3
How I made it?
1. Boil water and sugar together till syrupy
2. Add ginger piece,Mint leaves ,tomato pieces and cover with a lid(In this way tomatoes get cooked in the steam).Let it cool.
3. Remove the ginger piece and mint leaves after giving a good squeeze
4. Grind into a puree and then add lemon juice
5. Pour the mixture on a baking pan and keep it in freezer
6.Scrape the mixture every 20 minutes with a fork .
7. Do it at least 3 to 4 times to get a nice ice shaving texture.
Serve with few mint leaves and Orange or Lemon Zest.

1. Serve the Granita's in ice cold glasses so that they dont melt fast.

Jaanu's Today!
My munchkin is 7 and half months old now.
New Learning's!
1. Last month she learned to get on her knees ,go back and forth as if she is warming up to crawl .
2.One fine day we were watching TV and all of a sudden she has started crawling on her knees (05/03/11).The first thing she does after learning to crawl is to head straight towards the coffee table. I remember when we were buying the coffee table I rejected so many nice ones because it was not child proof.
Moral of the story : Go with your child's intuition. Don't go over board in child proofing thingy! Kids body is designed to absorb little shocks!!!
I have kept the coffee table behind the couch now as I am tired of fearing she may get hurt :(
3.She can also sit without support in an awkward way as if she is doing Yoga!! Lol ;)
4. She can say "Abbbbaa" in spite of me trying to teach her say "Ammma".
I feel two sides of me,the one which feels so happy on seeing my gals little learning's and the other which makes me feel "Aw www!! My sweetie is growing fast !"

Letters to my baby(Jhanvi) !!
This post has been lying in my drafts for a long time. I was confused whether to just take the picture of my letter and post it or rather write the same content .
I chose the later as I wanted to show the hand written one only to my daughter when she is old enough to understand that.
The moment I realised that I have a new life in me ,I was first amused that how will my baby know me? I started thinking how much she has developed now ,When can she hear me? ,Who she might look like? I wanted to connect with her by all possible ways. There are few things which you always treasure and one among that would be the letters ,then it occurred to me why not write a letter to my dear most ? It's not because to show her how important she is to me(Isn't that Obvious??) ,Its for the fact that I wanted to share something (exclusive )to her .When ever I was feeling down with something I used to tell her that you should be always with me. U should not go to anyone and find secured in me and with me. OH boy ! My daughter is a listener ! She sticks to me like a fevi quick. :) and I smirk when ever she stops crying the moment she comes back to me. OK back to my letters. I am not a poet neither I am good with words. I know for sure what ever I wrote was true from my heart .

As I dunno whether you are boy or girl . I just don't care ! I love you in all ways. The fact of you in me is an emotional and an intense moment for me.I wanted to share this fact with you. I am the luckiest person to be chosen by God to keep you in me for 9 months and after birth share with your dad for rest of our lives. I will be born again with you as a mother and thank you for giving me that identity. If you happen to feel sudden jerks ,Do not worry its just me jumping out of joy for just having u in my tummy. I Love You !!

Eco friendly !! Trying to be one
Last week was hectic for me. A surprise visit to Madurai ( My In-laws) . Preparing meals for the road trip ,Panicking about how my daughter is gonna handle the 6 hrs car journey and finally bringing my Mother-in-law to Bangalore . My MIL stayed just for 2 days ,So she wanted to visit her cousin sister here in Yelahanka . When they came back home I saw a "Rocking Horse" in Vasanth's hand. It was a gift from Vasanth's aunt. So sweet of her ! Its made of wood. I have hardly seen people using a wooden "Rocking Horse " nowadays probably because of their weight. But its always better to use those as they are Eco-friendly and You wont have even an ounce of guilt when u throw that 'coz its bio-degradable. I keep my Organic and Inorganic waste in separate bags. I use cloth to clean instead of paper towels. I use hand kerchief instead of tissues. I try to use cloth nappies for baby as far as i can. I understand that its little bit of work but isn't it better to be safe than sorry?? Once again I wanna thank Aunt for the gorgeous "Rocking Horse" . She is too young to sit on it but babies grow faster !!!
After writing this post i was like "Is this me ??? " Talking too much like a Egghead here??? But to say the fact I felt happy that I am contributing to "Green Planet"

Era-My Pregnancy
I was supposed to rave about this when i was pregnant. But some how I was not able to or I was not interested at that time 'coz of so called pregnancy hormones.After giving a big thought about this I was like why shouldn't I write about it now??
As everyone says and knows.. I was on top of the world after i came to know i was pregnant.. I wanted to scream.. Vasanth usually accompanies me every time .Irony is I chose this day(Dec 8 ,2009) to go to the Doc alone :(
Called everyone at home.. Went to buy some juice and some healthy food as i was pregnant. Taking extreme caution that i choose everything organic. Doctor gave me an appointment for Ultra Sound Scan(USS) to know how much my baby has grown.
On the Day of USS I was tensed and highly excited .I dressed up nice as i was gonna meet my baby for the first time ! Doctor was looking at the screen and I couldn't hold the excitement and asked doctor what was his observation. The first word came out of him " Yes! There is a Single Live baby with Heartbeat" . I was like "There is a heartbeat?"
I was captivated by the thought that I have a life in me. I asked doctor whether i can meet my baby?? He was so generous enough to show and explain. He showed the heartbeat . I was finally able to spot that tiny bean :) I stopped myself from crying like a baby in front of the doctor. Phew !!!! I was 8 weeks. I was standing in front of mirror and expecting a bump right away.

This is a picture of 12 weeks of Jaanu ! By this time she was playing tennis and football in my uterus already. My daughter waved a "Hi" . This might sound too melodramatic but I witnessed it and everyone have to believe that.. I have the proof .
In India doctor don't reveal the sex of the baby. Its against the law. Sigh!! I wanted my baby to be safe.
I was advised by doctor that I should be keeping my mind free and happy.
I was already on cloud nine.I used to remind people around me that I am Pregnant ask them to make or keep me happy as far as possible. I kept myself away from sad novels, serials,movies and chats. Listening to good music. Ate healthy food and hogged on cravings when ever i had any.
Few things makes me wonder :
1. I am a coffee lover but in my first trimester I literally hated the smell of it. It made me so nauseous.
2. I never liked Pickles but in my first trimester I used to mix rice with the Pickle for meals .
3. My mood swings were higher and used to be all over the place sometimes.
My first trimester was over before i knew it. I spent all of it by sleeping and vomiting ...
On March 16th I was having my morning breakfast, watching tv and I felt something on my tummy. i just waved my hand on my tummy thinking it to be an insect
After some time again i had the same feeling. All of sudden it strikes me that it might be a baby's kick.
I muted the Tv and kept a hand on my small bump ,Now it was powerful one. She gave me a first kick. I was jumping out of joy and told my husband who was in office that i felt her for the first time. I was thrilled ,cried for sometime ,giggling like a small girl. I was talking to her.
I was thinking to write to my baby before she/he lands on this world.
I wrote a letter to her .
Time flew so fast. Vasanth used to take me to beach just to have a nice air. I loved beach and in my pregnancy i loved it even more. I used to feel that my baby will breathe this fresh air with me. I imagined my baby playing with waves with her/his father holding her/him so that she/he wont go far.
I was happy ..very happy.. There are lots of things which left unsaid. But its like a princess story in my mind.
It brings tears to my eyes even now wen i am writing this. :)

Daddy Out of Station!
I'm blogging today just to increase the number of posts in my blog and i strongly believe ,I am not the only person here who does that! Well .. Tomorrow ,Vasanth is going for an official work. I was like YAY!!!! Mommy-Daughter time.. Vasanth never had a touring job so far .. After changing his job He has started going out of station for work. Vasanth asked me "What are u gonna do without me for 2 days??? " before going out for the first time .
I answered " Order Pizza and Enjoy!!" I was joking of course to pump his ego !!
After he came back from the first trip.. He asked me what i did and surprisingly my answer was same ;) . I really did enjoy being all by myself. No cooking,No breaking my head on what to cook !!
So I'm inquisitive what he will do this time..

Jaanu's Today !!
It was 8 p.m Saturday night(05/02/11) . Jaanu was playing with her toys on the floor while I was preparing her cereal. I kept the cereal cup near her and went inside my room to grab a towel. Suddenly I hear Vasanth screaming Whoooooo!!! and when i reach the spot ,the cereal cup had a major accident. It was upside down and Jaanu's hands were making pictures on the floor with the spilled cereal. It was fun to watch my baby do that.We make a note of the date ,take pictures laugh ..blah blah blah.. Trust me ! It will not much of a fun to watch this again and again as there is something that you have to do after that hodgepodge and that's called "Cleaning" .

Jam . Jam . Jammy (Apricots)
My father got lots of Organic Apricots from Armenia this time. I am fond of dry fruits.. I hope everyone knows apricots are little sour .
So this was the reason of them sitting in my pantry for quiet a long time. So I decided to make a jam out of it . Though preparation was not as quick as the decision . The peocess of making jam itself was a longer process I had few challanges in between like:
1. My baby crying extremly loud
2. Change her diapers
3 Play with her.
4. Doing laundry
5.Give her bath
6. Gas is out in stove .
Phew!!
But I was able to finish it. Good job Swathi !!
I took 500 g of Apricots and made two bottles of jam which costs around 450 bucks in store. So technically saving 200 bucks and also making my husbands stomach happy.
Recipe :
Ingredients :
500 g Apricots
1 Litre of water
300 g Sugar ,Actually you can go up to 500 g
Saffron -Few strands ( Eyeballed them)
Cinammon sticks (Good preservative)
What I Did??
1. Cut the apricots into chunks and soak them in water overnight.
2. Next day I take a heavy bottom pan and cook the apricots ,stirring occasionally for half hour
3. Add sugar,saffron ,cook untill a thick consistancy has reached(Stir constantly).
4. Add cinnamon sticks and immediately put them in sterilized air tight containers
5. Close the containers after they are cool.
P.S: You need to stir it constantly . It took one and half hour for the whole process :)

Couch... Ouuch!!
After coming to Bangalore I hardly had time to do anything other than taking care of my Jaanu... I got so used to just engage myself with her ,I was not at all interested to do anything else.
One fine day when Vasanth asked me "Do u remember how to cook?"
Yes ! He was right(That's what i told myself) ,its been 7 months I went inside kitchen .Well all good things comes to an end..I resumed my job-doing house old shores. We went out for shopping for furniture wen my parents were here...We decided on things placed order for couch...The couch arrives on 24Th and guess what??? My daughter threw the bottle filled with milk on new couch on 25Th.Most of it was on me though but had tough time cleaning the couch...

ManyaSri - Jhanvi
What to blog about this girl???
She was born on July 22nd,2010.
Named "ManyaSri-By our Acharyan" ,"Jhanvi - by us" on Aug 1st
She is officially 6 months old now and identifies me :) and her eyes follows the direction where ever I go without a blink
She gives the widest smile on seeing her father and gives "Who's She?" look at the maid.
She can roll over on her tummy and move backwards :)
Keep a toy in front of her and she moves away from it by crawling backwards..This is followed by a frustration of not been able to reach the toy
The more frustrated she gets more far she goes .. LOl.. Fun to watch..
Started giggling and blabbering "Ayyaaaaaaaaaah" "Inga" "Aphoooooo- accompanied by a fountain of saliva from her mouth ".
The rest of the world is a big "NO" for her.She's totally a mommy's girl and hates to go to strangers...
Playing with her wen she's with me is not a problem.. The moment some one else takes control.. The lioness starts roaring ,but I was surprised to see the ease and comfort she shared with my Mom wen they were here for the New years.It was really nice to see the Grandma-Grandaughter bonding..
She keeps pulling her legs in front of her face.. Probably wondering what are they for??? Rest is next..
P.S..Im just writing all rubbish.. It may not mean anything to readers but it means a lot to me. I just wanna keep track of daughters growth now and then.. I luv u JaanuMaanu !

Well well well... Its been really really long time since i have blogged... This new year has given me a bundle of joy weighing 7.5 Kg.Yup! My cutie little Angel "Jhanvi@ ManyaSri" ... My parents were also here with me adding more to the fun time..
